What an FDE is
A Forward Deployed Engineer is neither a classic implementation engineer nor a pre-sales role: FDEs work on site, write production code, and are accountable for the outcome. Palantir created the role to deploy complex data platforms inside governments and enterprises; today frontier-model companies use it to close the last mile of AI adoption.
What we do
- Problem framing: turn "problems nobody can quite describe" into deliverable technical goals, together with your business team
- On-site integration: work inside your existing systems, map data flows, interfaces and permissions, and connect them
- Capability delivery: LLM applications, RAG, agents and automation, built and tuned in place
- Launch support: evaluation, latency and cost control, security and compliance, then iterate on real usage
- Knowledge return: every pitfall found on site becomes a standard playbook for our products and courses
Engagement models
- On-site delivery: engineers embedded at your site, delivered against milestones
- Embedded team: blended with your team, billed weekly or monthly
- Diagnostic consulting: feasibility and roadmap for digital and AI adoption
Delivery standards
- Production-grade code: maintainable, tested, documented, so your team can take over
- Verifiable outcomes: every proposal defines its metrics and acceptance criteria
- Controlled compliance: permissions, audit trails, human fallback and cost caps included
